Privacy policy

What we collect

kosmetika.ge is a free price-comparison engine for pharmacy products in Georgia. We do not require registration, and we do not collect names, phone numbers, or email addresses unless you choose to email us at hi@kosmetika.ge.

We use cookieless analytics (Umami) to count page views and aggregate clicks on outbound pharmacy links. Umami does not store IP addresses, does not set tracking cookies, and does not build cross-site profiles.

Third-party processors

Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany) — server hosting; processes IP addresses transiently for request routing and TLS termination via Caddy. No long-term IP logging.

Umami (self-hosted on the same Hetzner infrastructure) — anonymous page-view and event analytics.

Google AdSense (planned, not yet active) — when enabled, will serve display ads. Google may set its own cookies subject to its own policies; opt out at https://adssettings.google.com/.

We do not transfer personal data to any other processor.

Data retention

Aggregate analytics are retained for 24 months and then rolled up to monthly counters. Email correspondence is retained for the duration of the conversation plus 12 months for follow-up, then deleted. The kosmetika_lang cookie expires after 12 months.

Legal basis (Georgia & GDPR)

We process aggregate, non-personal analytics under our legitimate interest in operating and improving the service (Georgian Law on Personal Data Protection, art. 5(g); GDPR art. 6(1)(f) for EU/EEA visitors).

Email correspondence is processed on the basis of your consent in initiating contact (GDPR art. 6(1)(a)). The lawful-basis controller for kosmetika.ge is the operator named in the Contact page.

How we use it

Aggregate analytics tell us which products and categories are popular so we can prioritise indexing and translation work. We never link analytics events to a specific person — there's nothing to link them to.

Outbound clicks on partner-pharmacy links route through our /go/{id} endpoint. The endpoint records the click for our own statistics and 302-redirects you to the pharmacy. We do not pass identifying information to the pharmacy.

Advertising

We display sponsored placements from pharmacy partners and (after Google approval) from Google AdSense. Sponsored slots are labelled "Ad" and clicks are recorded in our aggregate analytics.

Google AdSense, when active, may use cookies to serve ads relevant to your interests. You can opt out at https://adssettings.google.com/. Until then, only first-party partner ads run on the site, and they do not set cookies.

Cookies

We use one functional cookie, kosmetika_lang, to remember your language preference between visits. It contains only a two-letter language code (ru, en, ka) and expires after 12 months. We do not use any other cookies. If you dismiss the mobile sticky ad, the dismissal is recorded in localStorage with an expiry timestamp 14 days in the future and cleared automatically afterwards; this is local to your browser and never sent to us.

Healthcare disclaimer

kosmetika.ge is a comparison-only service focused on over-the-counter products. We do not sell, dispense, or stock medication; every purchase happens with the partner pharmacy. Listings in the medications and vitamins categories are summaries from public pharmacy data — they are not medical advice and not a substitute for consultation with a licensed healthcare professional. We do not collect or process any health data about visitors.

Children's privacy

kosmetika.ge is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has sent us identifying information by email, write to hi@kosmetika.ge and we will delete it.

Your rights

Because we don't store personal data on the site itself, there's typically nothing to request, correct, or delete. If you've emailed us, you can request deletion of the email thread, a copy of the correspondence we hold, or correction of any factual error by replying to the thread or writing to hi@kosmetika.ge.

Under GDPR (for EU/EEA visitors) you also have the right to object to processing and to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Under Georgian law, you may complain to the Personal Data Protection Service (personaldata.ge).

Takedown / DMCA

If a product listing infringes a copyright, trademark, or other right, send a notice to hi@kosmetika.ge with: the URL, the right asserted, the basis for the claim, your contact, and a statement that the claim is made in good faith. We action valid notices within 5 working days.

Changes

Material changes to this policy are reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Substantial changes will be flagged for 30 days on the homepage footer.
